Brittany A Casper, age 22, of Green River was arrested on 7/15/12 at 1:10 am on W 3rd N for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd offense. Officers observed the car Casper was driving drift to the right and almost hit parked vehicles on W 3rd N at N 8th W. Officers initiated a traffic stop and subsequent investigation showed Casper to be intoxicated. A driver’s license check showed she has a previous conviction for DWUI. Casper was taken into custody and transported to jail.

Mario Chavaria-Mejia, age 47, of N Salt Lake City Utah, was arrested on7/14/12 at 7:30 pm on W Flaming Gorge Way and Hwy 374 on a warrant out of Polk County Florida for a Probation Violation. Chavaria-Mejia was stopped for a traffic violation and a driver’s license check showed the outstanding warrant out of Florida. He was taken into custody and transported to jail. Chavaria-Mejia was also charged with Driving While Suspended, No Insurance and Passing in a No Passing Zone.

Adam J Styles, age 27, of Rock Springs Wyoming was arrested on 7/13/12 at 10:47 am on Commerce Way on an Arrest and Hold Order from Probation and Parole for Use of a Controlled Substance. Officers were dispatched to Probation and Parole regarding a client admitting to using heroin to his probation officer. Styles was taken into custody and transported to jail.

Carrie Montoya, age 50, of Rock Springs was arrested on 7/13/12 at 02:11 pm on Commerce Way on a warrant out of Circuit Court for a Probation Violation on the original charge of Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Officers were dispatched to Probation and Parole regarding a client who has an outstanding arrest warrant. Officers contacted Montoya and the warrant was confirmed and she was transported to jail.

Heather A Beller, age 39, of Rock Springs was arrested on 7/13/12 at 05:27 pm on Commerce Way on an Arrest and Hold Order from Probation and Parole for Use of a Controlled Substance. Officers were dispatched regarding a client who admitted to using heroin to her probation officer. Beller was taken into custody and transported to jail.

Matthew G Smith, age 27, of Rock Springs was arrested on 7/16/12 at 02:04 am on W 2nd N for Public Intoxication. Smith had previous contact with police at a restaurant and he was asked to leave at management’s request. Smith was given a ride by a friend. Approximately 5 minutes later Smith was found walking on W 2nd N and he was taken into custody and transported to jail.

Officers investigated a report of a Domestic Battery on S 4th W when the victim advised she was beaten up by her boyfriend and jumped out of a moving vehicle to escape from him. The male subject could not be located at that time and the victim was transported to Memorial Hospital by ambulance. A report was forwarded to the County Attorney’s office for review.

A report of Destruction of Property was taken on Bridger Drive when the victim advised her ex-husband kicked in the front door to her apartment and then left. She said he later returned and threw rocks through her bedroom window. The victim wanted her ex-husband to be given a trespass warning for her apartment. The suspect was contacted and he denied any involvement in the incident. Officer gave the suspect a verbal trespass warning for his ex-wife’s apartment and report was forwarded to the County Attorney’s office for review.

Officer investigated a Harassment complaint on E 3rd N when the victim reported she received over 50 test messages from her ex-boyfriend in less than 24 hours. The victim sated she already has a trespass warning for him at her residence and workplace. Officer advised her on how to get a Protection Order and tried to contact the suspect at his residence and by phone unsuccessfully.

Officers investigated a report of a Domestic Battery on Lombard Street when a third party called in a disturbance. The parties involved received minor injuries and agreed to separate for the night. Their injuries were documented and a report was forwarded to the County Attorney’s office for review.

A Shoplifting report was taken on Uinta Drive when the store clerk advised two men entered the liquor store portion of the establishment and one of the males concealed a bottle of liquor on his person and left without paying. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

A Dog Bite report was taken on Anvil Drive, the dog’s vaccinations records were up to date and the victim did not wish to pursue charges.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel on Idaho Street with a 35 year old female who intentionally overdosed on OTC medication and prescription medication.

Officers investigated a crash at the parking lot of the LDS church on W Teton Blvd when a 17 year old female backed into a parked van owned by Paul Bumgarner. Damage to the Bumgarner van was estimated at over $1000 and under $1000 to the Jeep driven by the juvenile and no injuries were reported. The juvenile ws cited for Inattentive Driving.

A Malicious Mischief report was taken on Wilkes Drive when the victim advised someone broke the driver’s side mirror of his work truck. The victim valued the mirror at $150.

Officers issued a trespass warning on N 5th E when the victim advised her Ex-boyfriend was sending her mean test messages and she wanted him to stop and not contact her again. Officer talked with the suspect by phone and he was given the warning.

Officers issued a trespass warning on Hitching Post Drive at the request of the property owner when she advised an 18 year old male drove onto her property and spun “cookies” throwing rocks at her vehicles parked on her property. No damage was reported and the male was contacted and given the warning.

Officers assisted Department of Family Services’ personnel on S Wagonwheel Drive with a welfare check.

Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a Midget Rattle snake in a yard at Elk Valley Drive; the snake was captured and relocated.

Officers responded to a barking dog complaint of E Teton Blvd; the dog’s owners could not be contacted and the dogs were place inside the owner’s garage.

Officers responded to a report of a brindle Pit Bull type dog at large on South Carolina Drive; the dog was followed home and the owner was warned.

Animal Control Officers responded to a dog at large call on Jensen Street; the dog’s owner was located and was warned of the violation.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel on S 2nd E with a 19 year female having trouble breathing.

Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a bat in a church on Mansface Street; the bat was impounded.

Officers responded to a shots fired call on Colorado Drive; a male subject was firing a CO 2 pistol off his deck into the field behind his home. The subject was contacted and warned of the violation.

Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a large Pit Bull type dog at large on Monroe Ave; the dog was located and impounded.

Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a hawk in a yard on Wilkes Drive. The reporting party thought the hawk was injured but it flew off when officers approached it.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel with an 86 year old male who was faint and having stomach pains.

Animal Control Officers responded to a report of an unknown type snake in the front yard of a residence on Hitching Post Drive; unable to located snake upon arrival.

Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a cat in a trap on Railroad Street; the cat was impounded.
