[ARCHIVED] City welcomes residents to weigh in on key choices facing Green River

Did you know that the City of Green is updating is Comprehensive Master Plan? The comprehensive plan will guide how the community will look, feel, and grow for the next 20 years and beyond. The plan will build on planning work that has already been completed in the City, and it will help provide clear direction regarding the City’s priorities for the future.

The planning process began in November 2011 and is scheduled for completion by the end of October 2012. Public involvement is an essential element of the planning effort in order for the plan to reflect the community’s values and aspirations. The earlier phases of the comprehensive plan process focused on the preparation of the Community Snapshot report, which highlights key facts, trends, and opportunities facing Green River. The Community Snapshot report is available on the City’s website at www.cityofgreenriver.org.

At this stage in the effort, it is important for residents, business owners, and other interested people in Green River to weigh in on the community’s long-term vision, and to provide your feedback to help the City make some important decisions for the future. For example, which projects are most important to you in order to enhance connections between downtown and the river area? What type of growth (if any) would you like to see in different areas of the community?

To answer these and other important questions, the City invites you to complete a survey, accessible from the City’s website or directly at www.surveymonkey.com/s/GreenRiverKeyChoices. Paper copies of the survey are available at City Hall, 50 East 2nd North Street. The survey will take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete, and feedback will be accepted until Sunday, June 10, 2012.

If you wish to enter the drawing to win a one of two $50 gift certificates from the Chamber of Commerce, please provide your name and contact information upon completion of the survey (survey responses will remain anonymous).
