Mercy J Garcia, age 62, of Green River was arrested on 5/15/12 at 9:38 pm on Hitching Post Drive for Driving While Intoxicated. Garcia was stopped for a headlight violation and subsequent investigation showed she was intoxicated at the time of the stop. Garcia would not provide an adequate breath sample so a search warrant was obtained for her blood. A sample was taken at the hospital and sent to the state crime lab for analysis. Garcia was then booked into jail.
Officers took a Fraud report on South Carolina Street when the victim advised she and her husband had travelled out of country to Mexico. She advised they paid for their hotel with a debit card and upon their return found their card was used to purchase over $6000 in merchandise in Mexico fraudulently.
Officers assisted ambulance personnel on Logan Street with a 78 year old male suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
A juvenile problem was reported at Lincoln Middle School when a student was found going through the purse belonging to a teacher. No items were reported missing and the incident was handled internally by the school administration.
Animal Control Officers responded to a cat in a trap on E Flaming Gorge Way. The cat was impounded at the Animal Shelter.
Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a snake on Hitching Post Drive. The large Bull snake was caught and released out in the county.
Animal Control Officers responded to a complaint of a barking dog on Apache Drive. The owner was warned of the complaint.
Animal Control Officers responded to a dog at large on E Flaming Gorge Way; a Chihuahua type dog was impounded.
