Officers investigated a report of Child Abuse on Hackberry Street when a father reportedly struck his child, a 2year old male, for not eating his meal. The child was taken into protective custody and a report was forwarded to the County Attorney’s office for review.

A Detective from the Green River Police Department responded to the Emergency Room at Sweetwater Memorial Hospital for a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound on 12/12/11 at 20:30 hours. The victim and witnesses at the scene all advised it was an accidental discharge that entered the victim’s left knee and exit his lower calf. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Howard Lewis reported a Hit and Run crash to the rear of his red Chrysler Town car on 12/14/11 at 16:00 hours on Castle Rock Court. Lewis advised his vehicle was parked there since Monday 12/12/11. There was no paint transfer and no debris to indicate the type of vehicle that struck the Lewis car.

Officers assisted Department of Family Services personnel with a report of Child Neglect on E Flaming Gorge Way when a 9 year old female was treated at Sweetwater Memorial Hospital for a stomach ailment. The reporting party was concerned for the child’s health and living conditions. An investigation ensued and the report was unfounded.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel on N 5th W with a 5 year old male who was hit by a swing while at the playground.

Officers assisted Probation and Parole agents by witnessing a drug test on Commercial Way.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel on Schultz Street with an 8 year old female who was struck by the shower door and is bleeding from a cut above her eye.

Two dogs were impounded from New Hampshire Street for being at large.
