Officers responded to a 911 hang up call from a closed business on Hitching Post. Officers found the building secured and unoccupied. The cause of the call was an apparent phone malfunction.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Adams to a report of a cat at large. The cat was located and impounded.

Officers were dispatched to a local motel on Flaming Gorge to a report of employees finding the remains of insulation from copper wire. The investigation is ongoing.

Robert Alexander, 29 years old of Rock Springs was arrested at the Wyoming Department of Corrections, Probation, and Parole after his urinalysis gave a positive indication for use of controlled substances. Alexander was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Facility where he was booked into jail.

Officers were requested to a residence on Iowa to conduct a civil standby while a utility company terminated utility service to the residence.

Officers investigated the reported theft of a portable generator from a company truck on W. 4 S.

Officers assisted the Fire Department and ambulance personnel when a fire alarm at the Hampton Inn was activated by smoke coming from the kitchen. There was no fire and no one was injured and the alarm was reset.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to a dog at large on the 500 block of Clark St. The dog was located and impounded.

Officers assisted the Fire Department and ambulance personnel who responded to a fire alarm at 280 Monroe Ave. The alarm was a false alarm.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Evans St. to a report of a vicious animal. Animal Control Officers impounded the dog.

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of E. Railroad to a report of numerous abandoned vehicles. About 20 vehicles were tagged for removal.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Barnhart. St. to a dog at large. The dog was gone on the officer’s arrival.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel at a residence on the 600 block of W. 3 N. to a report of a 59 year old woman having stepped on a nail and was unable to control the bleeding. EMT’s were able to control the bleeding stopped and the woman was not transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Officers conducted a civil standby on Oklahoma.

Jessilyn Potter, 26 years old of Rock Springs was arrested for DWUI after officers observed a car parked on the wrong side of the street on Flaming Gorge then drive away and continue on the wrong side of the street for more than a block. After an investigation at the scene of the traffic stop, Potter was arrested and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and booked into jail.
