Animal Control Officers responded to nuisance animal reports on Uinta, S. 5 E. and W. 3 S.

Police Officers responded to two anonymous reports of barking dogs on Hitching Post and W. 4 N. The dogs were not located and no causes for the disturbances were located in these cases.

Officers investigated a report of a green canvas bag containing fishing tackle being stolen from a garage on Arizona St. The theft was recently discovered but it was determined the theft occurred during the early months of 2010.

Officers were dispatched to a parking complaint on W. 2 S. near the underpass. A red Volkswagen was located blocking a lane of travel. There were no occupants in the car and the owner couldn’t be reached, so the car was towed at the owners expense to clear the traffic hazard.

Officers were dispatched to Expedition Island to a report of two boys aged 10 to 12 years old throwing rocks at lights. The boys were gone when police arrived and no damage was located to the light fixtures on the island.

Officers conducted a welfare check at a residence on Cumorah. The findings the officers made there were forwarded to the Department Of Family Services.

Officers were dispatched to a loud music complaint on Florida Drive. A verbal warning was given to the residents there.

Officers received a complaint of stop sign violations on S. 5 W.

Officers assisted the Department of Family Services on Jefferson. A subject there was transported to the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County by ambulance.

Officers investigated a report of Domestic Violence on Astle Ave. No injuries were discovered and the case was referred to the Sweetwater County Attorney’s Office.

Officers observed what appeared to be a Domestic Dispute on Flaming Gorge. Officers investigated and learned it was a verbal disagreement between a mother and son. No action was taken.

Officers investigated a tank truck blocking traffic a N. 5 W. and W. Railroad. It was determined the truck driver was looking for Green River, UT not Green River, WY so the driver was given directions back to I-80.

Officers checked on suspicious vehicles they observed in an alley between W. 3 N. and W. 4 N. and at Jackson School.

Officers responded to a fight in progress at the Ponderosa Bar. When Officers arrived it was discovered it was a verbal dispute that had not turned physical.

Officers responded to a burglar alarm at a business on Uinta. The business was checked and found to be secure. The owner was notified of the alarm.


10/02/10

Officers impounded a stray cat that was caught in a live trap at the 100 block of Uinta.

Officers investigated a hit and run report at the Smith’s parking lot on Bridger Drive. Daniel Christy of Green River reported damages to his white 1995 Chevrolet pickup occurred sometime during the morning hours while he was at work. The investigation is continuing and the police is requesting anyone who may have witnessed the crash to notify the Green River Police Department.

Officers investigated a parking complaint on Midwest Dr. The owner was contacted and the vehicle was moved.

Officers responded to a gas drive off on Flaming Gorge. The people returned and paid the bill.

Officers took a report of a theft of jewelry on Hackberry.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel on Monroe Ave., Bridger Drive, and Uinta Dr.

Officers responded to complaints of barking dogs on Montana Way. Officers found dogs barking throughout the neighborhood and made contact with several pet owners and got the problem solved.

Asia Clark, 20 years old of Green River was arrested on an outstanding Sweetwater County arrest warrant for failing to pay fines on a previous conviction of Use of a Controlled Substance. Clark was arrested after an Officer made a traffic stop on the car Clark was driving for failing to

stop at a stop sign. Clark was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center where she was booked into jail.

10/03/10
Officers initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle near the rodeo arena for what appeared to be an underage person riding without a helmet. The driver of the motorcycle, Jordan Cox, 22 years old of Green River was issued a citation for not having a class M endorsement and his passenger, Brianna Hart, 19 years old of Green River was issued a citation for underage consumption of alcohol.

Officers responded to the 500 block of E. Flaming Gorge to investigate a theft report. This report was later determined to be unfounded.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Evans for no visible registration. When the officer made contact with occupants, he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle. The driver 18 year old Brooke Scott of Rock Springs was cited for underage consumption of alcohol after the officer’s investigation confirmed she wasn’t intoxicated. The passenger, a 16 year old female of Rock Springs was arrested for underage consumption of alcohol and violating the curfew ordinance. The juvenile was transported to the police department where she was released to a responsible adult. Both subjects were issued citations into Green River Municipal Court.

Timothy Dow, 19 years old of Green River was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for out of Sweetwater County for two counts of Manufacture or Delivery of Methamphetamine after an officer observed a subject he recognized as Timothy Dow leave the Loaf and Jug on Bridger Dr. and walk towards the Rock Butte Apartments. Dow was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center where he was booked into jail.

Officers responded to a hold up alarm at a business on Flaming Gorge. The alarm was accidentally set off by an employee.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a stolen vehicle on Flaming Gorge. This report was later to be unfounded.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Flaming Gorge and Center St. to a report of drunk subject. No one matching the description given by the caller was located in the area.

Officers were dispatched to W. Flaming Gorge and N. 6 W. to a report of a driver slumped over the steering wheel of a running pickup with the headlights on. Officers located Mary Flores, 24 of Green River asleep at the wheel of her Ford pickup. Flores was arrested for DWUT and was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Facility and booked into jail. Flores was issued a citation and the case was referred to the Sweetwater County Attorney’s office.

Animal Control Officers investigated reports of dogs at large on S. 1 W.,Schultz St., and on Easy St.

Animal Control Officers investigated reports of stray cats at on N. 1 W.

Officers were dispatched to a subject passed out behind the Ponderosa Bar.

Officers investigated a loud music complaint coming from a vehicle on Bridger. The music was off when officers arrived and a verbal warning was issued.

Officers took a report of unauthorized use of a vehicle on Green River Way.

Officers investigated a report of a stolen bicycle and IPOD on Driftwood. The investigation is continued.
