| notification on their computer they needed to update their Microsoft Windows. The reporting |
|
| party paid $399.99 for the update and was later contacted by phone by an individual advising they |
|
| were eligible for a refund. The reporting party provided their bank information and received a |
|
| deposit for $3999 and was told to buy gift cards from Wal-Mart for the overage and provide the |
|
| caller with the numbers on the back. The reporting party realized this to be a scam and contacted |
|
| their bank who changed their account information. Officers completed a report regarding the incident. |
