[ARCHIVED] Utility Rate Increase Study

Proposed 5 Year Rate ChangeInvesting in the future of Green River’s

Water, Wastewater, Storm Water and Solid Waste Systems

The City of Green River is dedicated to providing superior and reliable utility services for our Citizens in the most cost-effective manner while protecting the City’s overall environmental and public health. Long-term planning is essential to maintain the health of the community and ensuring that services are preserved. The City teamed up with a nationally recognized consultant, NewGen Strategies & Solutions, to help us prepare and to develop a long-term reasonable rate strategy to meet future operations, capital construction, wastewater treatment plant construction, transfer station construction and unfunded mandates.

The goal of the strategy is to meet future financial needs while trying to maintain reasonable rates with low to moderate scheduled increases. Below are the proposed 5-year changes to the rates for residents in three user groups: low user (single person or apartment), moderate user (house with yard and/or family) and high user (house with large yard and/or large families). Actual bills will vary depending on your actual water usage.  Since ninety percent of the City’s utility users are residential, this notice concentrates on residents. Commercial customers may call the City to request their estimated rate changes.
