[ARCHIVED] Green River Prescription Discount Card saves residents money!

August 12, 2010 — Through its participation in the National League of Cities’ (NLC) Prescription Discount Card program, Green River saved residents an average of 21.9% for prescriptions in July.
The discount cards may be used by all residents and have no restrictions based on age, income level, or existing health coverage. Even pet prescriptions, if used to treat human conditions, are covered. The discount card helps not only those without insurance but also covers prescriptions excluded from health benefit plans.
Using the program is easy since the cards are free and there is no enrollment process. Residents simply present their card with their prescription at a participating pharmacy. Cards can be printed from the Internet at www.caremark.com/nlc or picked up at several locations in Green River including City offices, the Recreation Center, Golden Hour Senior Center, Castle Rock Medical Center, the Food Bank and Community Nursing. Cards are also available at the Young at Heart Senior Center in Rock Springs.
The City of Green River prescription discount card can be used at pharmacies in the area as well as more than 60,000 participating retail pharmacies across the country. It can be used while traveling and by family members who live in a different part of the country.
The program is administered by CVS Caremark. Visit their website www.caremark.com/nlc to print a card, find participating pharmacies across the country or access other program tools. Call toll-free 1-888-620-1749 for assistance with the program.
