Officers took a hit and run report at the municipal horse corrals. An unknown truck or trailer backed into a horse corral and broke the passenger side tail light lens of the suspect vehicle. Damage to the corral was estimated at $150.

Officers responded to domestic disputes at on Monroe and Wilderness. No arrests were made, but the case was forwarded to the Sweetwater County Attorney’s office.

Officers took a found property report at 777 Uinta.

Officers observed a dog at large on South Wagonwheel. The owner of the dog was located and issued a citation.

Treina Montoya of Fort Bridger reported her car was burglarized while parked at 221 E. 3 S. and her purse and contents were stolen. The total loss was estimated at $190.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute on Iowa. No arrests were made.

Officers conducted a welfare check on Wilkes Drive.

Officers responded to a dispute at the Coachman Motel.

Officers took an Unauthorized Use of Vehicle report at 160 E. 2 S. The vehicle was later recovered by WHP in Uinta County when they arrested the driver for DUI.

Officers took a vicious animal report at 455 W. Virginia. The report was forwarded to the city prosecuting attorney.

Joseph Kunkel 26 years old of Rock Springs was arrested for Aggravated Assault, Criminal Entry, Destruction of Property, and violation of a Stalking Protection Order after he reportedly broke into a residence and attacked an estranged girlfriend. Kunkle was booked into the Sweetwater County Detention Center. This case has been referred to the Sweetwater County Attorney’s Office.


Three juveniles were arrested for arrested for Underage Consumption of Alcohol, Curfew Violations and one was charged with Resisting Arrest after officers located them in a city park after hours. Two of the juveniles were from Rock Springs and one from Green River. The three were released to parents after being issued citations into Green River Municipal Court.

Justin Nelson 18 years old of Green River was arrested for Underage Consumption of Alcohol and Public Intoxication on Bridger Drive after police were dispatched to the area for a reported prowler. Nelson was issued citations into Green River Municipal Court and booked into the Sweetwater County Detention Center.
