[ARCHIVED] Police Dept. Press Release 8/4/2010

Officers investigated a report of Grand Larceny on Commerce Way. Officers responded to Hunter’s Run subdivision to a report of approximately $6000 in siding having been stolen from a storage area. Anyone with information please call the GRPD at 872-0555.

Reports of Unauthorized Use of a Credit card were taken on E 2nd N and on Juniper St. Unknown subjects accessed debit card accounts from two individuals without their permission and made various charges on their accounts.

A report of Fraud was investigated on Ironwood Street. The reporting party sent money overseas with the understanding that he was a relationship and later learned he was just being swindled. The GRPD would like to remind the public there are numerous fraud schemes enticing people to send money overseas; once the money is sent there little if anything that can be done to recover the victim’s losses. Wire services are used by these individuals to have the money sent overseas and these companies’ fraud prevention divisions warn people to only send money to known family and friends.

A report of Malicious Mischief was taken on N 1st E. Suspicious Circumstances were reported on W Teton Blvd.
