Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on August 20, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on
August 21, 2014:

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Schultz Street, in regards to a report of two dogs at large. The dogs were described as Chihuahuas.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at addresses on: Wyoming Drive, Schultz Street, Uinta Drive, Hitching Post Drive and Alaska Drive.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Trona Drive, in regards to two found dogs. The dogs were described as a Poodle and a Black Labrador.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Medicine Bow Drive, in reference to a report of a deer trapped in a wire. Wyoming Game and Fish were contacted and the animal was freed from the wire.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Schultz Street, in reference to a report of a dog bite. Animal Control Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers responded to Highway 530 south of Green River, in reference to a vehicle crash. Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel on the scene.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Colorado Drive, regarding a barking dog complaint. Animal Control Officers addressed the complaint with the owner of the dogs.

Officers responded to an address on South Wagonwheel, in reference to nuisance property. Officers addressed the complaint with the resident.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Schultz Street, in regards to a report of an injured dog at large. Animal Control Officers located the owner of the dog.

Officers responded to the area of Hitching Post Drive, in reference to a vehicle crash. It was reported a vehicle stopped and was struck from the vehicle traveling behind it.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, in regards to a report of trespassing. Officers contacted the individual who had previously been issued a trespass warning for the property. The individual received a citation for trespassing.

Officers responded to an address on East 4th South, in reference to an agency assist.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in reference to a report of an attempted scam. The reporting party was contacted by an individual over the phone that had a foreign accent. The caller told the reporting party they won $2.64 million dollars and a 2014 Mercedes Benz from Publishers Clearing House. The reporting party was told to claim their winnings they needed to send money to the caller on a Green Dot card. The reporting party contacted their bank who advised this was a scam. The reporting party did not provide any information to the caller and reported no monetary loss.

Officers responded to an address on West 3rd South, in regards to nuisance property. Officers posted a notice to abate at the address.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Uinta Drive.

Officers were dispatched to the School District #2 School Bus Yard, in reference to a report of a school bus light violation. Officers later contacted the driver who was issued a citation for Passing a Stopped School Bus.

Officers assisted a motorist at an address on Hitching Post Drive, regarding a dead battery.

Officers responded to an address on South Wagonwheel Drive, in regards to a report of a larceny. The reporting party stated a package was delivered and opened and resealed by an unknown person. Two individuals were issued a trespass warning for the property.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a report of a larceny. The reporting party stated a scooter was taken from the address. Officers located the property and it was returned to the reporting party.

Officers responded to the area of the Municipal Horse Corrals, regarding a found dog. The dog was described as a Boxer mix with no collar.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Schultz Street, in regards to a report of a dog bite. Animal Control Officers completed a report about the incident.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on South Carolina Drive, in reference to a citizen assist. The resident needed assistance with a cat at large.

Officers responded to an address on South 4th West, in regards to a report of suspicious activity. The reporting party stated they suspected someone may have been at the residence without permission. Officers checked the residence, everything appeared okay and nothing was reported missing.

Officers responded to the area of Illinois Court, reference to a report of fireworks being set off in the area.
