Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on August 18, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on
August 19, 2014:


Officers were dispatched to an address on Massachusetts Court, in reference to a 911 call. Officers contacted the resident, reported everything was okay and the call appeared to be a line problem.


Officers responded to the area of Miller Street, in regards to a report of an injured deer. Wyoming Game and Fish was contacted and also responded to the area.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in regards to a trespassing complaint. The reporting party wanted a trespass warning issued to an individual for their property.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at an address on Georgia Way.

Officers responded to an address on Oklahoma Drive, in reference to a report of lost or stolen property. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Driftwood Street, in reference to a welfare check. Officers contacted the resident who was okay and would contact the concerned party.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Spring View Drive.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the area of Tennessee Drive, regarding a barking dog complaint. Animal Control Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers responded to an address on South 5th East, in reference to a report of a missing child. The child was located a short time later in a neighbor’s yard and reported to be okay.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Tennessee Drive, in regards to a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a German Shepherd.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Wilkes Drive, regarding a parking problem. Officers tagged two vehicles for a parking violation.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Virginia Drive, regarding a civil standby.

Officers transported an inmate from the Sweetwater County Detention Center to the Green River Municipal Court for a hearing.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a civil issue.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in reference to a vehicle crash that occurred the previous day. The reporting party stated a vehicle backed into a parked and unoccupied vehicle.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Cumorah Way, in regards to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the involved parties who had a verbal dispute regarding child custody issues.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a 911 call. Officers checked the address and reported everything was okay.

Officers contacted an individual by telephone that had civil questions regarding a previously reported incident.

Officers contacted a resident by telephone who wanted to report a fraud. The reporting party signed up for a Secret Shopper Program. The reporting party received checks for participation and was to cash the checks, keep some of the funds and send the rest through Moneygram to another secret shopper. The reporting party was advised by the bank the checks that were cashed were fraudulent.

Officers responded to an address on Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of a two vehicle crash. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the reporting party who stated a vehicle backing out of a parking spot struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Evers Street, in regards to a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a Chocolate Labrador with a brown collar.

Officers responded to an address on East 3rd South, in regards to a welfare check on individuals at the residence.

Officers responded to the area of Trail Drive, in reference to a road hazard. The reporting party stated a road closed sign fell over in the roadway.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Buckboard Lane, in reference to two individuals shooting bows on the property. Officers contacted the individuals who were advised of the city ordinance.

Officers contacted a resident by telephone who wanted to report threats and property damage.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to an agency assist with Wyoming Probation and Parole.

Officers responded to unsecured properties on Homestead Drive and Railroad Avenue. Officers checked the properties, contacted a responsible party and secured the properties.
