Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on August 13, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on
August 14, 2014:


Officers transported two inmates from the Sweetwater County Detention Center to the Green River Municipal Court.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Upland Way, in regards to a report of a dog at large. Animal Control Officers were unable to locate the dog.

Officers responded to an address on Crossbow Drive, in reference to a report of an attempted scam. The reporting party received a telephone call claiming they won $1 million dollars, but they had to pay a fee to claim the winnings. The reporting party did not provided any personal information and hung up on the caller.

Officers were dispatched to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a fire alarm. Officers reported the call was accidental.

Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive, regarding a parking problem. Officers spoke with the reporting party and attempted to contact the owner of the vehicle.

Skyler Taggart, age 26, was arrested per an active District Court Warrant for Failure to Appear on an Order to Show Cause Hearing.

Officers responded to the Adult Green River Probation and Parole Office, regarding an agency assist.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Colorado Drive, in regards to a bat inside the residence. Animal Control Officers removed the bat from the residence.

Officers responded to an address on Pennsylvania Boulevard, regarding nuisance property. Officers posted a notice to at the residence.

Officers responded to an address on Monroe Avenue, regarding nuisance property. Officers contacted the resident who was given a warning.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in regards to a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Lombard Street, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers responded to an address on Jensen Street, in reference to a damaged fence. Officers spoke with the reporting party and completed an accidental damage report.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Wind River Drive, in regards to an animal call. The reporting party initially reported their dog was stolen. The dog was located and returned to the owner.

Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in reference to a vehicle crash. It was reported to Officers one vehicle backed into a parked and unoccupied vehicle. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of East 2nd South and Uinta Drive, in reference to a two vehicle crash. It was reported one vehicle struck the back of the vehicle in front of them at a stop light. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Adams Street, regarding a report of an injured cat.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the involved parties and determined a verbal dispute occurred.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive for a medical call.

Officers responded to an address on Riverview Drive, in reference to a littering complaint. The individual responsible for the littering was contacted and returned to clean up the area.

Officers were dispatched to an address on East 4th South, in regards to a report of suspicious activity. Officers contacted the reporting party and completed a report about the incident.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in regards to a report of threats.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Jensen Street, in reference to a welfare check. Officers contacted the resident and reported everything was okay.

Officers responded to an address on East Teton Boulevard, regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers contacted two individuals who were having a verbal dispute.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, regarding a disturbance. Officers spoke with parties involved who reported a verbal dispute occurred over child custody issues.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a report of suspicious activity.
