Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on March 19, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on March 20, 2014:

Officers responded to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way, in regards to a report of credit card fraud. The reporting party advised they were made aware by a credit card company that a customer paid for a transaction with a stolen credit card.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in regards to a report of fraud. The reporting party advised of an unauthorized transaction on their credit card, with the product purchased being sent to an address in Green River.

Officers were dispatched to an area on Upland Way, in reference to an agency assist. Officers assisted a Deputy with the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office with a subject who had an active warrant.

Officers transported an inmate from the Sweetwater County Detention Center to the Green River Municipal Court.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Mansface Street, in regards to a report of a dog at large.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department in reference to a citizen assist.

Officers responded to an address on Wilson Street in reference to an agency assist. Officers attempted to locate an individual for a welfare check.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Daniel Boone Drive, in reference to an assault. Officers spoke with parties involved, completed a report on the incident and a trespass warning was issued to an individual for the property.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Minnesota Court, regarding a parking complaint. Officers tagged a vehicle for five day parking.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Monroe Avenue, regarding a parking complaint. The complaint was resolved prior to Officers arrival.

Officers responded to an address on Sunset Street, in reference to a hit and run vehicle crash. The reporting party advised of damage to the side of their vehicle.

Officers were dispatched to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a 911 hang up call. Officers reported the call was accidental.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Telephone Canyon Road, in reference to a traffic complaint. The reporting party stated drivers were racing motorcycles on Riverview Drive to Telephone Canyon Road and wanted an extra patrol in the area.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Telephone Canyon Road, in regards to a report of persons firing a weapon in the desert area west of town. Officers responded to the area and were unable to locate anyone.

Officers responded to an address on Kansas Street, in regards to a report of fraud. The reporting party reportedly received a phone call from an individual posing as a Verizon Wireless Technical Support person. The suspect stated the balance of the phone bill needed to paid off or the phone service would be turned off. The victim paid the bill and double checked the transaction through online banking and found a large amount of money had been taken out. A report was completed on the incident and turned over to the GRPD Investigation Division.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Logan Street, in regards to a report of harassment.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on West 4th North.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to an audible business alarm. Officers checked the area and contacted a responsible party for the business. The alarm was reported to be accidental.

Officers responded to an address on Cumorah Way, in reference to a civil matter involving a custody issue.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Davy Crockett Drive, regarding a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke to the residents who reportedly had a verbal dispute.
