Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on March 3, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on March 4, 2014:


Officers transported two inmates from the Sweetwater County Detention Center to the Green River Municipal Court.

Officers responded to an address on Alabama Street, regarding a fire alarm. The alarm was determined to be accidental.

Officers were dispatched to the Sweetwater County Courthouse, in reference to a 911 call. Upon arrival, Officers confirmed the call was accidental.

Officers assisted a motorist on Uinta Drive.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Hitching Post Drive, regarding a residential alarm. Officers secured the residence and reported everything was okay.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and addresses on Wisconsin Court, Oklahoma Street and Jensen Street.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a civil matter involving property.

Officers were dispatched to the Adult Green River Probation and Parole Office, in reference to an agency assist. Upon arrival, Yvonne Swett, age 28, was arrested per an active Sweetwater County for Failure to Pay-Contempt on original charges of Battery and Child Endangerment. Yvonne Swett was also arrested per an Arrest and Hold Order for a Probation Violation.

Officers assisted the Wyoming Department of Family Services at an address on Bridger Drive.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on South 5th East, regarding a cat in a trap.

Officers were dispatched to the area of West Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a REDDI report. Officers contacted the driver and reported the driver was not impaired.

Michelle Lamorie, age 46, was arrested per an active Sweetwater County Warrant for Failure to Pay on an original charge of Failure to Maintain Liability Coverage.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Jensen Street, in regards to a report of an attempted scam. The reporting party received a fraudulent e-mail from someone representing themselves as Microsoft Corporation. The e-mail wanted personal and credit card information to be sent to fix a computer problem, in which Microsoft had been contacted by repeated error messages. The reporting party reported no financial loss from the attempted scam.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on South Wagonwheel Drive, regarding a welfare check on a dog. Animal Control Officers reported the animal was in good condition.

Officers responded to an address on Nolan Street, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Iowa Avenue, in reference to a report of suspicious activity.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Oklahoma Street, in regards to a welfare check. Upon arrival, Officers determined everything was okay.

Officers responded to an address on Wilderness Trail, in reference to a report of a burglary. It was reported items were stolen from a vehicle.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Indian Hills Drive, in regards to a report of threats.

Officers were dispatched to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in reference to a citizen assist.
