Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on February 4, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on February 5, 2014:

Officers responded to an address on Monroe Avenue in reference to a citizen assist. The resident had concerns over internet websites.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Wilkes Drive in reference to a report of a traffic complaint.

Officers responded to the intersection of Uinta Drive and Monroe Avenue in reference to a report of a two vehicle crash. One driver was cited for Inattentive Driving.

Officers took a report of threats from an address on Virginia Drive.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Shoshone Avenue in reference to a 911 call. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the caller and determined the call was accidental.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby and met with a resident, who had questions about an unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Officers responded to the Green River Adult Probation and Parole on three occasions, in reference to an agency assist. During one of the responses Edgar Lujan, age 20, was arrested per an active warrant issued out of Utah on original charges of: Forgery (two counts), Underage Consumption of Alcohol, Open Container, No Insurance and Expired Registration.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Jensen Street, regarding an attempted scam. A call was received in which it was reported the resident won money through Publishers Clearing House. The resident recognized the call to be a scam and did not provide any personal information to the caller.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in reference to a citizen assist.

Officers responded to an address on Log Cabin Lane, in reference to a civil standby.

Officers were dispatched to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to an abandoned 911 call. Upon arrival, Officers determined the call was accidental.

Nicholas Anderson, age 24, was arrested per an active Sweetwater County warrant for Probation Revocation on an original charge of Larceny.

Officers took a report of a juvenile issue reported at an address on West 5th North.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby in reference to a report of a forgery.

Officers responded to an address on Cumorah Way in an attempt to serve a summons.

Officers were dispatched to the areas of Bridger Drive and West Teton Boulevard in reference to a report of a missing person. Officers located the missing person and it was determined the person was not missing; rather a miscommunication occurred at the residence.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Brandner Circle in reference to a residential alarm. Upon arrival, Officers advised everything was secured.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on South Wagonwheel Drive in reference to a report of a barking dog.

Animal Control Officers from the Green River Animal Shelter adopted an animal to a local family.

Officers responded to an address on Monroe Avenue in reference to a suspicious activity regarding internet activity.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Wind River Drive in reference to a welfare check on an animal left outside.

Officers responded to an address on Buckboard Lane in reference to a civil standby regarding property.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive in reference to a report of a scam. The scam was presented to businesses as a phone call from the corporate office advising they were experiencing computer problems. The caller instructed the employee at the local business to load money onto a Green Dot or Reloadit prepaid credit card. The caller then wanted the pack numbers behind the scratched seal read back to them over the phone. If businesses are asked to perform duties outside the normal business operations be sure to verify with store management and directly contact the corporate office as needed.

Officers were dispatched to an address on West Teton Boulevard in reference to a citizen assist.
