Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on January 27, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on January 28, 2014:

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive in reference to a hit and run vehicle crash. It was reported a vehicle struck a parked vehicle and left the area.

Officer responded to an address on Wind River Drive in reference to a report of a larceny. Missing item was located and returned to the owner.

Officers took a report of a juvenile problem at an address on Hitching Post Drive.

Officers transported an inmate from the Sweetwater County Detention Center to the Green River Municipal Court.

Officers took a report of illegal dumping that reportedly occurred over the weekend at an address on Uinta Drive.

Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive in reference to a report of a 911 hang up call.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive in reference to a welfare check on an individual who had not been heard from by family members. Officers contacted the individual and everything was okay.

Officers took a report of property destruction at an address on Shoshone Avenue. A vehicle and residence were damaged by bb’s possibly used in a bb gun.

Officers completed a VIN inspection at an address on South 1st West.

Officers responded to an alarm at an address on Wilkes Drive. Officers arrived at the location and reported things were okay and the alarm was accidental.

Officers responded to an address on Wilkes Drive in reference to a report of a burglary. While speaking with the reporting party it was reported nothing was missing.

Officers responded to an address on Wilson Street in reference to a report of harassment.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Cumorah Way in reference to a report of a nuisance animal. Animal Control Officers contacted the owner who advised they would clean up after their dog.

Officers responded to an address on Uinta Drive in reference to a report of a disturbance. When contact was made at the residence it was determined a verbal dispute occurred and Officers remained on scene for a civil standby.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Washington Street in reference to a report of a barking dog complaint. Animal Control Officers contacted the owner of the dog and a warning was issued.

Officers took an informational report in regards to suspicious activity reported on Evers Street.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive in reference to a report of property destruction. Officers contacted parties involved and parties did not want a report written.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Alamosa Circle.

Officers took a report of an attempted fraud reported at an address on Clark Street. It was reported a resident was selling an item on KSL.com classifieds and was contacted by someone who wanted to purchase the item. The potential buyer sent a fake PayPal webpage to the seller that advised they had paid for the item but it would not show in the seller’s PayPal history as it was still pending. The seller was told they needed to pay a certain amount through a wire deposit for the funds to be released into the account. The reporting party contacted PayPal and was advised not to send the money because it was a scam. Green River Police Department wants to remind residents to be cautious with online transactions notably when someone wants to set up payment options outside the normal process by requesting money to be wired.

Officer responded to an address on Railroad Ave. in reference to a report of suspicious activity.
