Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The following events were reported on September 9, 2013:
Officers responded to Jackson Elementary School, in reference to a parking complaint.
Officers were dispatched to the Flaming Gorge Loaf and Jug, in regards to a transient taking a bath in the sink in the restroom. The transient was advised.
Officers responded to the Police Department lobby, in reference to a citizen assist.
Officers investigated a report of a larceny from the Green River High School. The School Resource Officer (SRO) is currently investigating the report.
Officers were dispatched to the area of North 4th West, in reference to a parking complaint.
School Resource Officers responded to Lincoln Middle School, in regards to assisting the Wyoming Department of Family Services with an interview.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, to assist DFS, with an investigation of child neglect.
Officers responded to Castle Rock Medical Center, in reference to a report of suspicious circumstances that occurred over the weekend. An extra patrol was set up for the reporting party.
Officers conducted VIN checks at numerous places in Green River, including several at the Police Department and also on Mansface Street.
Officers responded to an address on Knotty Pine Street, where they investigated a theft of several tools from the victim’s garage. This investigation is ongoing.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Kansas Street, in reference to a possible credit card scam. The subject at the address was advised.
Officers responded to Washington Elementary School, in reference to a problem with an unruly child. The incident was documented for future reference.
Officers responded to the School District #2 Bus barn, in regards to a violation of passing school bus lights. Officers took an original report and are still attempting to locate the suspect in the case, to obtain a statement.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Crossbow Drive, in reference to a report of animal neglect. This investigation is ongoing.
Officers were dispatched to the Union Pacific Railroad yard, in regards to a transient trespassing in the area. Upon arrival, Officers discovered 55 year old Ronald Houston had an outstanding warrant, from the Rock Springs Police Department. Houston was placed under arrest and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Facility, where he was booked in on the original charge of Drunk in Public.
Officers responded to Mansface Terrace, in reference to an alarm. It was determined that the alarm was accidental.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Clearview Drive and Churchview Drive, in regards to a deer that appeared to be injured.
Officers responded to a business on West Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a citizen assist.
Officers were dispatched to an address at 98 Uinta Drive, in regards to a physical domestic, between boyfriend and girlfriend. A report was written and will be forwarded to the County Attorney’s Office for review of charges.
