Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The following events were reported on August 23, 2013:


Officers were dispatched to an address on Cumorah Way, in reference to a report of suspicious circumstances.

Officers responded to the area of Hitching Post Drive and Crossbow, in regards to a citizen assist.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Upland Way, in reference to a dog at large.

Animal Control Officers responded to the municipal horse corrals, in regards to horses running loose.

Officer responded to an address on Shoshone Avenue, in reference to a parking complaint.

Officers located a dog at large, in the area of Eat 4th South. The dog was taken to the shelter and impounded.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Birch Street and Cedar Street, in reference to a dog at large.

Officers responded to the Sweetwater County Detention Facility, where they transported an inmate back to Green River for court.

Officers responded to Adult Probation and Parole, regarding assisting Agents in witnessing urine analysis tests.

Officers were dispatched to the Police Department lobby, where they took a report of check fraud from an individual. The investigation is ongoing.

Animal Control Officers investigated a report of a barking dog on Sunset Street.

Officers responded to the area of North 1st East and Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a vehicle crash.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, regarding a parking complaint.

Officers responded to the Desmond Motel, in regards to a civil standby. Upon arriving, Officers observed 20 year old Dakota Failoni, of Green River, physically assaulting a male subject. Failoni was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Facility, where she was booked in on the charge of Battery.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Sunset Street, in reference to a residential burglar alarm. It was determined that the alarm was accidental.

Officers conducted numerous VIN checks at the Police Department, as well as residences on South 4th West and New Hampshire Street.

Officers responded back to Adult Probation and Parole, regarding assisting Probation Agents in witnessing urine analysis tests.

Officers investigated a report of check fraud at an address in Pioneer Park.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Juniper Street, in regards to a civil standby.

Officers were contacted by a subject on Upland Way, in reference to a parking complaint.

Officers responded to the area of Knotty Pine Street and Stephens Street, in regards to a small child throwing apples at passing cars. Officers were unable to locate the child.

Officers and Ambulance Personnel were dispatched to an address on Daniel Boone Drive, in reference to a female with extreme knee pain.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Ironwood Street, in regards to a skunk in the backyard.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Iowa Avenue, in reference to a citizen assist.

Officers investigated a report of hit and run in the area of Uinta Drive and Roosevelt Street. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded to the area of West Railroad Avenue and North 1st West, in reference to debris blocking the road.

Officers and Ambulance Personnel were dispatched to an address on Cedar Street, in regards to an elderly male with a high fever.

Officers responded to an address on Grant Circle, in reference to a citizen assist.


The following events were reported on August 24, 2013:


Officers were dispatched to an address on West Railroad Avenue, in reference to a male and female fighting outside the bar. Officers were unable to locate the subjects upon arriving.

Officers responded to the area of Astle Avenue and Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of suspicious circumstances.

Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel, in reference to a domestic dispute. During the course of the investigation, 39 year old Benjamin Hughes was placed under arrest for Domestic Battery. Hughes was later transported to the Detention Facility.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Ironwood Street in regards to a skunk in a trap.

Officers were dispatched to an address on West Railroad Avenue, in reference to a citizen assist.

Officers investigated a report of fraud on Tigee Circle. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded to an address on Hillside Drive, in regards to a civil standby.

Officers were dispatched to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a physical fight between two (2) adult males. The subjects were separated after Officers arrived.

Officers and Ambulance Personnel responded to an address on East 2nd South, in regards to an elderly female who had fallen and hit her head.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Monroe Avenue, in reference to a puppy at large.

Officers responded to Adult Probation and Parole, in regards to an arrest and hold on 21 year old Shane Potter of Rock Springs. Potter was arrested for violating the conditions of his probation.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Vermont Court, in regards to a violation of the Green River Ordinance.

Officers responded to Adult Probation and Parole, in regards to an arrest and hold on 23 year old Kasey Guenther of Rock Springs. Guenther was arrested for violating the conditions of his probation.

Officers responded to the Union Pacific Railroad, in reference to a trespass warning.

Officers were dispatched to an address at the 98 Uinta trailer court, in regards to a verbal domestic.

Officers responded to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a verbal domestic.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Andrews Drive, in regards to an injured dove.

Officers responded to an address on East Teton Boulevard, in reference to a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Trona Drive, in regards to a noise complaint.

Officers responded to an address on South 5th East, in reference to a subject needing a civil standby to obtain some personal property from a residence.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by 52 year old Pamela Sweets, of Green River. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Sweets was operating a motorized vehicle, while under the influence of alcohol. Sweets was placed under arrest for DUI and later transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Facility.

Officers and Ambulance Personnel were dispatched to an address on Mississippi Street, in reference to female who possibly had a seizure.


The following events were reported on August 25, 2013:


Officers responded to an address on Hackberry Street in regards to a trespass warning.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Adams Street, in reference to a report of a vehicle playing loud music.

Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive, in regards to a report of suspicious circumstances.

Officers were dispatched to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a burglar alarm at a business.

Officers investigated a report of an accident, in the alley behind White Mountain Lumber. It was discovered that a forklift ran into a parked vehicle.

Officers and Ambulance Personnel responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in regards to an elderly male needing transported to the hospital.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on South Carolina Drive, in reference to a welfare check on a dog.

Officers responded to an address on West Railroad Avenue, in regards to a civil standby.

Officers investigated a report of domestic battery, between a mother and son, on South Dakota Drive. The report was forwarded to the County Attorney’s Office to review for charges.

Animal Control Officers responded to the Uinta Loaf and Jug, in reference to a dog at large.

Officers and Fire Personnel responded to an address on South 4th East, in regards to a possible fire. It was determined that the fire was in a fire pit in a backyard.

Officers were dispatched to an address on North Center Street, in reference to a noise complaint. The owner of the residence was issued a verbal warning, but a short time later, Officers were called back to the residence again. The second time Officers made contact with the owner of the residence, they were issued a citation for Disturbing the Peace.

Officers responded to an address on Alabama Drive, in regards to a report of attempted criminal entry into a parked vehicle. A witness in the case, attempted to apprehend the suspect, but they were unable to catch the suspect, who had fled on foot. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers were dispatched to the area of East Flaming Gorge Way and North 5th East, in reference to a report of property destruction. After a short foot pursuit, the Officers apprehended 30 year old Raymond Hammond. Hammond was transported to the Detention Facility, where he was booked in on charges of Destruction of Property, Public Intoxication and Interference with a Peace Officer.
